Sub zero temperatures and snow flakes… winter has set in for the long haul
And my babies and I are poorly, sniffles, fever, cough, a chest infection and all things nasty.
If it sounds familiar (hope not) then you mamas know all too well how difficult feeding them is right now.
So I have a hot healing drink that I make for my poorly pumpkins that goes down a treat. Its such a relief to get this Healing Elixir trickle through their little systems.
Its packed full of compounds rich in powerful medicinal properties that are
- anti inflammatory
- anti bacterial
- decongestive
- super restorative.
- I think it tastes good too. (Also great beautifying properties for mums)

I usually make them Gingerbread Men when bugged down to appease the unrelenting sugar cravings.. and I only offer these ginger and cinnamon filled little gentlemen.
I remember being given something similar by my mum growing up and we call it kava, but essentially it is Spiced Honey Tea..
Ingredients
- 1 ltr Water
- 1 tsp Ajwain
- 2tsp Fennel Seeds
- Stick of Cinnamon
- 5 Cardamom pods
- 1 Black Cardamom pod
- 4 or 5 cloves
- Few sprigs Saffron
- Honey to Sweeten
Method
- Place 1ltr water to boil
- Add all ingredients except for Saffron and Honey
- Once boiling reduce to low heat and allow to simmer for 20 – 30 mins
- Remove from heat and add honey also the sprigs of Saffron
- Serve nice and warm

Simple and Super Healing, enjoy x
